Iran and Russia have signed an agreement regarding aircraft construction and repair approvals. Under the agreement, both the Iran and Russia Aviation Organizations will approve all design and repair-related requests, with the repair of Russian planes being carried out in Iran.

During a meeting with Igor Levitin, the special assistant to the President of Russia, Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, spoke about the details of the agreement, and highlighted the increase in flights between the two countries and the enhancement of cooperation in the aviation industry.
Iran’s Capability to Repair Russian Planes and Produce Parts for Aircraft Design and Construction
When asked about Iran’s capability to repair Russian planes, the head of the Civil Aviation Organization responded positively, stating that a number of grounded planes have been repaired and returned to service in recent weeks. He also stated that the country has the expertise to manufacture the required parts for repairs and has reduced its dependence on foreign countries.
Iran and Russia to Strengthen Cooperation in Air Transport
Furthermore, Bakhsh spoke about Iran’s ability to produce parts for aircraft design and construction within the country, despite facing numerous challenges due to sanctions. He added that a consortium, which includes the scientific vice secretary of the secretariat, and members from the Departments of Defense, Roads and Urban Development, and Security, has been established to continuously report on the design and construction of airplanes within the country.
