The spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Organization announced that approximately 2,000 seats would be added to the country’s air sector capacity by the end of the year, playing a crucial role in improving the supply and demand situation and increasing the passenger capacity of the air fleet.
The spokesperson highlighted that the government is actively working to rejuvenate the country’s air fleet, successfully reducing the average age of the air sector from 28 years to 26 years since the beginning of its term. Sixty planes have been imported in the past 18 months, half of which are already operational, as airlines have imported new fleets according to their capacities. The spokesperson emphasized that the country’s air fleet would reach 250 aircraft by year-end.
