Regarding the details of the new health protocol for air travelers, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development states “Every arrival passengers to Iran supposed to have the negative PCR test, which should be examined in less than a week.”
Shahram Adam Nejad, The Deputy Minister of Transport of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development stated that the new requirements of the airlines for keeping the social distance and the regulations set to deal with the outbreak of Corona virus: observing the decisions of the National Anti-Corona Headquarters And aviation are two important priorities of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in transporting passengers by plane.
He said “In the new protocol, the flight was canceled at 60% of the aircraft capacity because it was basically impossible to implement it. For example, in an MD aircraft, only 35% of the aircraft can be used if the flight is to be operated at 60% capacity and keeping the social distance.”
Referring to the use of an aircraft air conditioning system, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development emphasized “The capability of aircraft air conditioning systems can help meet the requirements in dealing with the outbreak of Corona virus and this system changes the air inside the cabin every few minutes. There was a problem that when the plane was on the ground, the aircraft system did not turn on, and from today, every time the plane is on the ground with the passenger, the air condition system must be on.”
Adam Nejad said “Another requirement is to disinfect the passenger buses between the terminal and the aircraft and airport terminals several times a day. Airport bus capacity is doubled and they have to move 50% of the passenger capacity between the terminal and the aircraft.”
He added “the use of masks is mandatory during the flight and representatives of the Ministry of Health will take samples from inside of the aircraft.”
Adam Nejad said about the planes that are not equipped with the HEPA system: according to the communiqué, all the existing planes must be equipped with the HEPA system.
Adam Nejad about anti-Corona measures inside the terminals states “Each terminal is disinfected 6 times and we have to develop infrastructure, and we cannot deal with people by force. We are looking to increase our capacity and no longer see overcrowded and traffic congestion in our airports.”
Referring to Iran’s protocols for passengers entering the country, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development emphasized “All arrival passengers to Iran should have a negative PCR test, which should be valid for at least a week. It does not matter where the passengers enter our country, having this negative test is mandatory for everyone, and if someone does not have this test with itself, the representatives of the Ministry of Health will test the passengers at the airport with its payment.”
