Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh, the head of the Civil Aviation Organization, announced that the newly operational terminal at Kish Island Airport will significantly enhance support for oil platforms, marking a strategic development for Kish Island.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new terminal on November 14th, attended by the Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Zones, Bakhsh highlighted the multifaceted benefits of the airport’s operation. The terminal bolsters the island’s economic and investment appeal. It plays a crucial role in the support infrastructure for regional oil platforms.
Bakhsh also noted that Kish Airport is home to some of the busiest helicopter flight complexes, underscoring its importance in the region’s aviation activities. He emphasized that with proper planning and interdepartmental collaboration, Kish Island can become a hub for air sports on an international scale, further diversifying its aviation capabilities.
