The Head of the Civil Aviation Organization has made a promising announcement regarding enhancing Iran’s air fleet. Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh revealed plans to bolster the fleet to 250 aircraft by the year’s conclusion.
As reported by TIN News, Mohammadi Bakhsh elaborated that the current average age of the nation’s air fleet has been reduced from 28.5 years to 26 years since the onset of the 13th government. He emphasized that not only has the fleet’s average age been lowered by two years, but a further aging of 2 years has also been averted, with aspirations to reduce the average aircraft age to below 20 years.
In reflection on the past 20 months, he noted that 60 aircraft have been introduced into the country, with half of them already being operational. In addition, Mohammadi Bakhsh highlighted that Iran currently conducts flights to 108 international destinations, operating 1200 flights daily. He also mentioned the presence of direct flights from Iran to 29 countries and the operation of 27 foreign airlines from various regions, including Europe, Central Asia, and China, within Iranian territories.
In a live appearance on the national programs on October 27th, he shared that in the past 20 months, international memorandums of understanding have been signed with 32 countries, assuring the safe execution of all these flight operations.
